Maybe Mang can straighten it out but I think the interpretation I posted is correct. He was trying to present how COMS would track PALM after the IPO, based on an assumed underlying value of 30 for COMS and various discounts from the 1.5 ratio.

The example I quoted from his table was: Assume PALM is trading at 50 (Market Cap $28.5 billion), that gives a contribution of 75 to COMS, plus the 30 gives you 105 for COMS, if COMS tracks PALM at the par ratio of 1.5:1. If you think COMS will trail the 1.5 ratio by 20%, Mang's 80% column tells you that COMS should be at 84. If you plug your own 20 in for the COMS underlying, you have to reduce all Mang's numbers by 10.
