Mobile Deal With TNT
NEW YORK, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- TNT, the European market leader in global express distribution, logistics and international mail has handed the contract to manage its fleet of 1800 mobile handsets to RSL COM UK, the UK's largest independent mobile Service Provider. RSL COM UK clinched the two-year deal, worth over #1.2m (nearly $2 million USD) annually in a competitive pitch with five of the UK's largest corporate telecom providers. "RSL COM won our business simply by studying our call patterns closer than any of its competitors. RSL COM realised that to save us most money, we didn't need the standard subsidised handsets seen in most corporate contracts and would benefit much more from fiercely competitive airtime charges," explains Paul Beedell, Group Telecommunications Manager for UK and Ireland at TNT. "However, our decision to work with RSL COM was as much about service levels as price. For example, RSL COM provides a dedicated service management team, contactable 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for our 1800 mobile users." The TNT mobile phone fleet is divided almost equally between management and commercial vehicle staff, with senior management regularly involved in international travel. "We are pleased that TNT has entrusted its mobile phone contract to RSL COM. With so many staff on the road, a cost-competitive and reliable mobile phone service is crucial to the smooth operation of TNT's business. By completely understanding our customer needs, we can offer TNT the most comprehensive service," explains Matt Crabtree, UK Sales Director at RSL COM.
