Brian, Intel, in their conservativeness, said they'd be slightly down in the first quarter. From the earnings report:

** The company expects revenue for the first quarter of 2000 to be
slightly down from fourth quarter revenue of $8.2 billion, due to
seasonal factors.


Some CC questioners after the 1Q results tried to talk them into UP, but Andy Bryant, CFO stood fast. Looks like they were being a little over-conservative. OTOH, they did underestimate demand for Coppermine PIIIs and have been busting it like mad trying to catch up. I guess they probably will.
