I believe a popular science project is to spear a potato with two strips of unlike metal, then use the thin stream of electrochemical current to run a quartz movement. The eponymous Potato Clock. In a celebration of the recursive, one such could be used to referee the baking of foil-wrapped Russets.
If a movement other than quartz were used ... you would have a whole 'nother kind of clock. A regular timepiece. " ...Crap, look at the time."

At least we are a step up from you laying (or claiming post facto to have laid) bets on what constitutes sure-fire Latherbait. I could offer suggestions, but this is after all a family thread. <cackle>
