"Why restrict the company to one provider of content? That makes no sense." I mentioned an "open" distribution network for getting movies (plus other content such as live sporting events etc..)to theaters around the world. This type of premium high end content that is controlled in a secure network would not be limited to content you would own. You might own a percentage of some of the content. Just like a cable operator does not own all of the movies it carries. But, like HBO, you would have some "HBO type" movies that you own and even sell off to your competitors. But the Universal concept would be open and cater to the high end, and all "Movie Studios/Producers" could pay you to securely distribute their films to locations throughout the world. At this point in time, it is probably too early to start analyzing how a business model like this would even work. More evolution in the market place probably has to occur. Thanks for your feedback on this idea.
