ANN ARBOR, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 2000--
Customers to Benefit From Outstanding Power and Value of
Comshare's and Microsoft's Web Technologies for e-business
Comshare(R) Inc. (Nasdaq:CSRE) announced today its support for Microsoft Windows 2000. Comshare solutions are also Microsoft BackOffice Logo Certified and integrate with Microsoft Excel 2000 and SQL Server. Comshare is the leader in e-business solutions for management planning and control (MPC), which includes planning, budgeting, reporting and analysis. Comshare has worked closely with Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT) on many levels and has been a Windows 2000 launch partner and beta tester of that product and Office 2000.
Comshare's Web-architected solutions require the Windows platform and Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS). Comshare began early as a beta tester of Windows 2000 as part of Microsoft's First Wave development program, and found the product an exceptional platform component for its MPC solutions. Because of their Microsoft foundation, Comshare's MPC solutions are planned to interface with Microsoft's new Digital Dashboard.
"Comshare established Microsoft as its standard development and operating platform for its software applications in 1996, which has met with overwhelming customer support," King added. "We've applied for Windows 2000 logo certification for Comshare's MPC products. Our strong relationship with Microsoft signifies to our customers that their purchase of our solutions will enhance their investments in Microsoft technology. Working closely with Microsoft on the development of Windows 2000 was a natural move that strengthens Comshare's Web platform and, thereby, Comshare's entire product suite."
The Comshare Web platform is based on Microsoft's Windows DNA (Distributed interNet Applications) Architecture, which optimizes Comshare's applications for Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft IIS. With their Windows DNA basis, Comshare's e-business solutions for MPC will take advantage of Windows 2000's powerful scalability, reliability and performance.
"Microsoft DNA 2000 architecture forms the basis of Comshare's solutions, which run on Windows 2000 and support Excel 2000 and SQL Server," said David King, Ph.D, Comshare senior vice president and chief technology officer. "Our customers will benefit from these Microsoft technologies through the outstanding value they provide in their ability to harness the Web's power, especially for management planning and control." |
