As the press release correctly implies, it is WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) that is the key to downloading from sites like Amazon, not TDD.
TDD is one of several airlink technologies that WAP can utilise. WAP is independent of the airlink technology.
TDD is not sponsored by NOK and IDC. It is a technology utilised by many companies (MOT, NOK, ERICY, AT&T, LU, Nortel, CNXT, Seimens etc. etc,). NOK, IDC and others hold TDD patents.
ERICY is challenging IDC patents. IDC lost a similar challenge by MOT.
