Good points, ms. The old fogeys that run China, however, must realize that without reliable communications and the economic benefits inherent in the instantenous transmission of information, their country will languish behind the rest of the world. The distance between China and the rest of the developed world will get greater and greater as time passes if they do not get on the information revolution bandwagon, regardless of domestic political consequences.
