You must disagree that 1XRTT is 3rd gen. Yes - it is a stepping stone to 3G, which I define as wide band wireless. That would leave the Q's 3rd gen as the only player in the game within that time frame. Being the only player in the game is a lonely existence. QCOM will need at least one network operator to roll out with.... Recapping - 3G will be held up by bickering over standards+IPR and network operator inertia.
