Ok I have found some info on the product on SMRA's news release. It is at the web site for Western Multiplex:
wmux.com

It is very new as they do not even talk about it on their main products page. It is a spread spectrum DS-3 radio. The product is really pretty impressive. It runs in the 5.8 gig range. The draw backs are that it is line of sight only and the max range is 15 miles. The 15 mile range coupled with the line of sight puts it into a nitch market with the 15 mile limit being the larger drawback. I don't think they are going to sell many to the larger players because of the distance limitation and the fact that it is spread spectrum. You can also buy the product through other channels.

I also took a look at SMRA's latest numbers. They do look pretty good. Good growth and they are making money with a impressive p/e as you noted.

So the downside is limited, but the new product is not the killer that will make the stock soar to the valuations of some of the other telecom companies.
