Fancy meeting you here! Tigress suggested I post this here:

Tech Help Needed

It looks like my home network was "probed" this morning. I have two networked machines running with a single DSL connection to GTE. I have a software gateway (Sygate), but am unsure about the hack prevention it provides. I also run NukeNabber, which monitors and reports on attempted intrusions.

My activity log indicates that I had an unauthorized connection to my system today. NukeNabber fingered them, and traced the contact back to an IP address assigned to an internet cafe in Germany.

Total connection time was slightly more than one (1) second. I doubt anyone could do any damage (such as planting a file) in that time.

Any thoughts on how to deal with this?
