BANGALORE, FEBRUARY 24: California-based H1-B solutions company y-axis.com will invest over $2 million in a series of promotional activities scheduled for India, China, South East Asia, Russia and the US within two months, according to the company's president and CEO Xavier Augustin.
Elaborating on the company plans, he said the promotional activities would include advertisements in the print, electronic and on-line media including a couple of country and technology portals besides Rediff and Satyam Online.Later, briefing the media here on Thursday, Augustin said Y-Axis.com was a standard tool for Indian personnel to market their skills to US employers.
He said, "Bangalore is an important market for us as the city contributes about 70 per cent of the country's total IT strength. However, the prevailing recruiting practices in the country are not up to the mark as recruiting firms often lacked technology knowledge."
Y-Axis was expecting to market its database and tools to attract H1B job holders waiting at their respective home countries to enter US on work assignments, he said.
According to him, the site was expected to facilitate interaction between H-1B job seekers and H-1B holders around the world and a large number of end-clients and consulting firms in the US and international placement agencies. The portal had already roped in 16 job consultants in the US and was expecting a revenue around $2 million from the US alone, he said.
