First of all, I'm not "convinced" that I'm right. I don't need conviction to avoid a stock.

When I first came across Rambus years ago I was a big believer. Ask Sal. I've been long Rambus on two occasions. I lost patience with Rambus because of Intel's 8xx chipset delays.

Then I started reading about issues with the technology, which I think I explained. Then came the Winstone or other performance comparisons which basically leave RDRAM flat-footed.

Next came Microns development of it's own chipset due this Fall. Then Intel's backing away from a RDRAM standard. Finally Intel's backing earlier this month of competing development.

All that is enough to keep me skeptical. Rambus is a one-trick pony. RDRAM must gain a defensible beachhead in the PC and server markets for the company to be validated. I can't see that happening based on any research I've read or heard.

I'll change my mind if I can understand a case...and Playstation isn't enough for me.
