A British subject I was born, and a British subject I shall die.
..... Sir John Eh MacDonald

Inside the cover of our pre-Trudeau passports it used to say -
"The Secretary of State for External Affairs of Canada requests, in the name of Her Majesty the Queen, all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer to pass freely without let or hindrance and to afford the bearer such assistance and protection as may be necessary."

Then at the bottom of page 1 - "A Canadian citizen is a British subject."

I kind of liked it that way. Got a huge shock the first time landing at Heathrow with a post-Trudeau passport, had to go through the 'Foreigners And Others' line ... something really wrong with that picture ... got a lot of sympathy though from the cab driver, the blackest Cockney i ever saw, lol.

So what's wrong with the Commonwealth, other than that the BoE sells bullion at strategic moments? ... should we quit the Francophonie [sp?] as well, do you think? ... don't you find more pressing go2net's threat to kill real SI?
