=======================

Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:SEBL), the world's largest provider of eBusiness applications, today announced a new series of wireless eBusiness applications that provide field sales and service professionals with real-time, wireless access to time-critical customer data from their mobile phones and other wireless Internet handsets.

Siebel Wireless equips field sales and service professionals with a powerful new device to increase sales effectiveness and service productivity and to improve customer satisfaction. Siebel Systems plans to make Siebel Wireless available to customers in Spring 2000.

Siebel Wireless can be used by consumers as well as businesses to order products and services and inquire into order status, as well as field sales and service professionals to update sales opportunities, review account information, access calendar and contact details, order parts and respond to service requests in real time. Siebel Wireless enables sales and service users to monitor and update opportunity lead details and order information in real-time, directly from their wireless handset.

Siebel Wireless allows consumers to more effectively communicate with suppliers and companies to effectively share customer information across multiple distribution channels. Based on Siebel's proven web-based architecture, Siebel Wireless extends to Siebel's industry applications, including Siebel eFinance, Siebel eInsurance, Siebel eCommunications, Siebel ePharma, Siebel eConsumer Goods and Siebel eEnergy.

In addition, Siebel Wireless eBusiness Applications allow companies to quickly deploy wireless-enabled websites for sales, channel management and customer service.

Alcatel to Implement Siebel Wireless Across European Divisions

Alcatel, a world leader in voice, data and fixed/mobile integration, has partnered with Siebel Systems to develop and implement Siebel Wireless solutions to improve the productivity of 1,500 Alcatel field service engineers located across Europe.

Siebel Wireless enables Alcatel field service engineers to receive service request and activity details, including product, asset, contact and order information, and to make real-time status updates in the field. Activities and service requests can be dispatched to field service technicians from Siebel-enabled customer support centers and from eService websites, and each request can be either accepted or declined directly from the engineer's wireless handset. In addition, job report data can be input and returned to the system via wireless in real-time.

"Siebel Wireless is an integral component of our deployment of Siebel eBusiness Applications, which allow us to serve our enterprise customers across any channel for the best efficiency, including the field, the call center and via the Web," said Sylvain Maillard, vice president of Alcatel's Enterprise Customer Service activities.

"Siebel Wireless enables us to increase the efficiency and productivity of our field service engineers while enhancing the quality of our customer service."

Alliance with Andersen Consulting

Siebel Systems also announced a strategic alliance with Andersen Consulting to implement Siebel Wireless applications at customer sites throughout the world. Working in concert, Siebel Systems and Andersen Consulting can deploy highly efficient, end-to-end eBusiness systems to help companies increase the effectiveness of every single customer interaction.

"Andersen Consulting and Siebel Systems are working together to develop, market and implement Siebel Wireless applications globally," stated Frank O'Dea, partner, Communications and High Technology, at Andersen Consulting.

"The evolution of wireless data technologies with the Internet can provide significant productivity gains for mobile professionals worldwide. With the introduction of Siebel Wireless, Siebel's market-leading eBusiness applications are now available anytime, anywhere. This will provide companies with new ways to serve their customers better and faster, as well as increase employee and team productivity."
