I have fallen into a couple of lucrative projects very recently, and am now officially in the market for external storage. Today, I went to a computer store (I think it was actually called The Computer Store-can't really remember) on 6th Ave and 40th Street. They had an assortment of Iomega products side by side with the EZ Flyer 230. I didn't know it before, but on the box of the Syquest, it claimed that the EZ FLyer cartridges had a life more than 10 times longer than Zip discs. Has this been addressed before?

Believe it or not, just because I am on the short side of IOM investment-wise does not mean that my buying habits automatically follow. So, I am actually considering a Zip. I am just too nervous though about some of the problems posted on the net about losing info when using the Zip, and the Jaz is right out. That is no longer a consideration. Too many problems with the Jaz both from net postings, and from personal testimonials among studios that I frequent. If I decide to go with the larger solution, it will probably be Syjet. But, for a smaller solution, I am torn between Zip and EZ Flyer 230. The EZ offers better performance and Cost/MB than Zip, at the expense of isolation. The Zip is much more widely used, so this is my quandry. I will make a decision soon.

I think I'll go over to the Comp USA on 38th and 5th Ave. tomorrow to check out the prices on these things as well.
