The Exchangeable Shares will commence trading on a post-split basis on The Toronto Stock Exchange on February 29, 2000. The Common Stock will continue to trade on Nasdaq on a pre-split basis, under the symbol "JDSU," until March 11, 2000, when the Common Stock will commence trading on a post-split basis. Additionally, during the period beginning March 3, 2000, through March 10, 2000, the Common Stock will also trade on Nasdaq on a post-split basis, under the symbol "JDSUV."

Can someone explain this in English? OR should I take it as written? The way I read it, we will have JDSU and JDSUV trading on the Nasdaq for a week. Why????
I have not heard of other companies doing this and that is why it seems unusual to me.
