Here is an absolutely fantastic (and short!) editorial about McCain and the significance of his Vietnam experience for the country right here right now--why McCain is the Anti-Clinton (and the Anti-Bush) in so many ways, and just what the country needs. And in The Economist, no less. This editorial is so on the money--the most significant article posted to this board ever (VBG!):

Incidentally, the following quote is not the main point of the article at all but it responds to the dick here who snickered that McCain looked "well-fed" when he returned from captivity.

As you all know, he can't raise his arms above his head today because of the torture he endured. And far from a pattern of special treatment, he was often isolated in solitary and subject to intense psychological or physical abuse because his father was an admiral and because he continually defied his captors.
