Xerox and Nokia to Provide Document Access On Mobile Phones
Xerox' MobileDoc Software Allows Users to Fax or E-mail Documents Using Nokia 7100 Series
ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 25, 2000--Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX - news) today announced it will provide document access via
Xerox MobileDoc(TM) software on Nokia 7100 Series web-enabled mobile phones. MobileDoc allows customers to fax or e-mail documents remotely from
handheld devices designed for wireless Internet access.
Xerox Mobile Solutions and Nokia will demonstrate MobileDoc on the 7100 Series at the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association 2000 show
(CTIA) at Nokia's Partner Pavilion booth in New Orleans next week. MobileDoc will be available as an enhanced service for the Nokia 7100 Series later this
year.
MobileDoc complements Nokia's mobile phones by giving customers access to networked documents without having to rely on heavy laptops or briefcases full
of papers. Sales professionals, for example, can have the appropriate sales literature sent to a nearby fax machine or e-mail address at the touch of a button -
controlled by a device that snaps comfortably on their belt or fits easily inside a pocket.
