Xerox and Motorola to Offer Wireless Document Solution for Business
Customers
MobileDoc(TM) Provides Remote Control of Documents with the PageWriter(R) 2000X and
Future WAP-Enabled Devices
ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 25, 2000-- Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX - news) and Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT - news) today
announced that Xerox MobileDoc(TM)software has been certified for the PageWriter©2000X and TimePort P930 interactive communicators as part of a
comprehensive software package to enterprise customers. The two companies also plan to include support of MobileDoc on Motorola phones that use
wireless application protocol (WAP) technology and to integrate MobileDoc capabilities with Motorola WAP servers and gateways.
Based on new Xerox-developed technology, MobileDoc gives mobile professionals the ability to control and distribute documents residing on the enterprise
server through a handheld device. For example, customers using Motorola's PageWriter 2000X or TimePort P930 can use the device to send critical
information sitting on their office server to any e-mail address or fax machine in the world.
