Metastock 7.0 Professional/Telescan Prosearch combo... Another thing is that the stocks that go into Metastock Professional have already been screened by Prosearch in Telescan for combinations of techno-fundamental criteria. I never scan a whole universe of stocks in Metastock. I use the process of elimination first in telscan. So these stocks are already in the best end of day shape, but metastock adds that 'breakout' stage and actual entry points. Added to all of this now is "news" in real time. I used to get only end of day while preparing the watch lists but now I get the e-signal (3 kinds) of real time news on the database stocks so I know of instant news that might be coming out. Trouble is that I have less time to actually trade myself, but I'm getting used to that already. I'm holding longer now and even through dips.. I've got hurt once with NSIL when the dip was more like a drenching but I had sold 800 of my 1000 by then. In the old days, I would not have hung on to the winners as long as I have, so I'll take the occasional loser (add INTU options that were up 54% and I lost it all today..because I just did not sell them yesterday)..
A better strategy would have been to hold them as long as I have, just not the earnings plays that are reporting the next few hours. I've often preached that but I get tempted myself, especially after a particularly good day.

I never told you guys this but that first day REGN was up I was out buying a car, missing at least 50k in potential profit according to my usual 'buys'.. I got in a second time but for no where near that. It still hurts. Now the car is coming tomorrow and whenever I look at it, I'm reminded of what it really cost me. I was going to wait for Saturday.. so that's my 'one that got away this week'. still I'm grateful for REGN..

REGN was $22.75 a share when I went out that morning and 74% higher when I came home it was $38.50 Today it was up only 24%.
