Spencer Katt wants to sell Palm? Fooey.
I have trouble believing in this one.
Two problems:
(1) Who would buy it? Not Motorola, as was suggested in this forum a while back... they have enough troubles, and already gave up on their own PDA.
(2) Why would USRX or COMS/USRX want to sell it? This "focus on core businesses" is a loser's attitude, not a winner's, and I'd like to think we still talking about companies which intend to keep growing. Besides, didn't McCartney give the Pilot particular mention in the USRX Q2 earnings conference call, saying that it was particularly good for building brand recognition because it had such high (70%) penetration in its marketplace? Seems like the wrong thing to say if you're going to dump the business next quarter... even analysts remember stuff like that!
Spencer is fun to read, but he runs only about half right, just like a coin.
In case there's any question, I love my Pilot! |
