"ACD Systems [V.ASA], on the CDNX, is primarily a digital imaging company, similar to MGI where you are seeing images and can transport e-mail or what have you. They're very tight with Hewlet Packard and run off Hewlet Packard's system. I understand that there could be something coming down the pipe later on with Hewlet Packard.
What I am seeing is these digital cameras as being a very powerful small computer in the hands of individuals. So, you are actually going to see, within a year or 18 months, messaging coming from digital cameras and even transporting images on a wireless basis from this company.
A PhD and professor out of Victoria University just joined the board. I can see the process of digital camera being a very vibrant market, where you are getting imaging, downloading of imaging, and stuff.
Even with the digital camera that I bought for my wife, we are going to put them on server farms or transpose them on a disk or wire them over the Internet. I think as we get penetration and sales of digital cameras, the sale of printers and editing equipment and all the software that enables the digital cameras to be vibrant are very important things.
So, the two leaders are MGI Software [T. MGI] or ASA. They are very strong companies and are leaders in their respected areas.
Frank Mersch: I gave you two laggards; I gave you AGT and Com Dev. I gave you market leaders in their respective categories, be it
ACD and MGI, although I'd rather own the ACD than the MGI.
StockHouse: Why is that?
Frank Mersch: I don't think it's recognized. It's on the CDNX. The company sales have all been by word of mouth. You should go to their website. That is how they have marketed themselves. So, without any money, they've been able to penetrate and capture their respective area just through word of mouth.
StockHouse: ACD Systems on the CDNX?
Frank Mersch: Yes. They've not had a marketing department at all. They've built this company from just the quality of the product.
