ALLADVANTAGE.COM APPOINTS DAVID MARTIN
VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

Former IBM Executive And Data Mining Expert Leads The Charge To More Effectively Targeted Ad Campaigns

February 8, 2000 - Hayward, CA- Expanding its ability to provide advertisers with the knowledge of who their customers are and how to best reach them, AllAdvantage.com today announced the appointment of former IBM executive David Martin to the newly created position of Vice President, Business Intelligence. Martin will strengthen AllAdvantage.com's efforts to more effectively target communication based on the wealth of data available from its members. Martin's mission is to help AllAdvantage create greater value for both members and advertising partners out of the members' data.

"Members give us permission to collect information about their online preferences," said Ray Everett-Church, Chief Privacy Officer of AllAdvantage.com. "What they expect in return is value, information, and advertiser offers that cater to their preferences – with full respect for their privacy. We must live up to that challenge every day, and David is a formidable force as we move in this direction."

Entrusted with the data of its fast-growing community, AllAdvantage.com collects real knowledge to businesses for their marketing efforts -- online or off-line:

Real knowledge means actual online behavioral data collected as active members travel across the breadth of the World Wide Web, rather than from just a limited number of disparate Web sites.

data is communicated by active Viewbar™ users to AllAdvantage.com on a strictly voluntary basis, according to stringent opt-in and privacy standards: members can switch the Viewbar™ window on and off at their convenience.

AllAdvantage.com's members are compensated for their personal data with a share of the revenue generated from advertising clients who choose to benefit from the company's communication platform. In addition, the company seeks to negotiate "what's in it for members" deals with companies wishing to reach the members of the AllAdvantage.com community.
“AllAdvantage.com is turning business intelligence on its head,” says Martin. “It is the first company to build itself on the premise that consumers' personal data must be used -- with their permission -- in a way that delivers value to them, as well as to advertisers. It's a quantum leap not only for consumers, but for advertisers as well.”

Martin joins the AllAdvantage.com executive team from IBM, where he led their Business Intelligence group's development effort in creating new applications to extract business knowledge from customer data.

About AllAdvantage.com

This allows AllAdvantage.com to offer advertisers a channel for delivering advertising, direct marketing messages, electronic commerce, and digital products to its members. The AllAdvantage.com Viewbar™ window, which can be downloaded for free on the World Wide Web, is currently available in seven countries. For more information, visit www.alladvantage.com
