Dear NW: I hope that they dont read TOO MUCH into the GDP figures for last qtr of 1999. I really believe some of it is attributable to stockpiling for any Y2K potential problems. I know myself, I followed the govts recommendation and stockpiled, food (2wks), water, prescriptions, and filled up my gas tanks plus an extra 5 gal. late in December. Multiply what I did (which wasnt extensive) across all of America and you could be talking a pretty big number. I would expect Jan. to be more subdued. JDN
