V,

Alright, dammit! You've finally got my attention. The line of discussion you initiated last night and which you've referenced in the past, but which I've previously skipped over, has started to intrigue me. (I think it was your unique style of presentation which raised the issue of investor motivation and stimulated personal thought and re-evaluation as to life goals and objectives). Anyway, I gather from some of the posts your strategy has intrigued other posters past and present and caused them to pursue some exploratory action in this regard with your assistance and blessing.

That said, although I've been fortunate and lucky to accumulate several mil in various "holding" equities, I have a difficult time in wrapping my brain around the workings of options. Like you, I'm pretty good with instinct, timing and scoping out the terrain but unlike you and others the technical nuances of calls and puts, etc. go right over my head because I learn best with a little "hands on" direction. Technical manuals, without pictures, don't work for me.

Anyway, I would like to learn call writing for the various reasons you've suggested. You've opened my eyes that there are more possibilities with stock holdings than just watching them sit there and going up one day and down the next and hoping they'll be up when retirement age rolls around. But mainly I'm just tired of trapsing all over the country (I'm a lobbyist and political campaign consultant) and living out of a suitcase despite the generous income. I would like to learn how to use my holdings and stay home in the mountains and enjoy myself while I'm still young.

So I do hope you'll continue with this subject matter and offer easy to understand instructions/models on how to go about it. I've perused several well-meaning threads and web sites regarding options but they all seem to assume the reader already knows how to go about it and when to hold 'em, when to fold 'em and when to walk away. (Yeah, I know. Kenny Rodgers and The Gambler). I, for one, need K.I.S.S. instruction and guidance.

Finally, I'm a pro at what I do and unashamedly charge the hell out of my clients. In that regard, I certainly acknowledge and appreciate the fact that you have taken it upon yourself to give us expert instruction and consultation at pro bono prices. That, my friend, is a virtue.
