What is going to happen NOW?

I really appreciate James Padinha's tentativeness, because the reality is none of us knows the future, only God does.

There was a very interesting discussion on CNBC Friday morning between Gary Kiminsky, Bill Meehan, and another gentleman. It was a *genuinely useful* exchange on whether the nasdaq run was going to continue, or whether it will inevitably fall to meet the falling Dow.

I thought one of Mr. Kiminsky's strongest points was what will happen with index funds in the next little while. The S and P is not exactly knocking everyone down on its way up the football field these days, and he suggested that many fund owners may switch from these funds into tech funds (JANUS here we come) in which case the bifurcated market will continue.

With the caveat of Mr. Padinha in mind, I will say that I find myself on Mr. Kiminsky's side of the argument right now. I note with some interest that nearly EVERYONE is calling for a nasdaq fall and a dow stablization (or at least a lessening of the pace of the dow's decline). I am not so sure.

In the meantime, what we all can do is take it on a day by day and stock by stock basis. This is not an easy market (I have never seen anything quite like it) but the gemmers thread will help us get through.
