zeev, rdram isn't under typical free market circumstances. to my knowledge, only samsung can produce rdram en masse. there maybe another player. in any case, it is few compared to sdram players.

we've seen an entire industry hold back inventory and artificially inflate prices (ex micron! ;-) only about 3 years ago. why not a few companies?

wrt finer features - i understand intel is having a bear of a time managing 18 micron. it was more difficult than anticipated.

btw, you are dead on about govt manipulation. make sure you are out when they start pulling out the chairs.
