David- I didn't word it very well. I didn't literally mean, "migrate," to fixed broadband wireless. I meant they can use their tower footprint to hang MMDS equipment off of it. And of course use their existing metro backbone to connect to the cloud. But I'm far from an expert at LMDS or MMDS myself. I was just guessing this was the inference in the Lucent press release. Sounds logical to me.

Speaking of this, wonder what kind of physical infrastructure MCI Worldcom bought when they went after all the wireless properties? It's going to be very interesting to watch how they connect customers to their nationwide backbone via fixed broadband wireless technologies. Or maybe I'm so far behind that I don't even know they are already doing this? -MikeM(From Florida)
