Joe - Re: ". But Thunderbird may be alone for 1 to 2 quarters. It's possible that Villy will be virtually MIA in crucial Q4."

Look at the facts.

Both ThumperTurd and Willamette have been demoed - so BOTH exist today.

ThumperTurd requires a new Copper Process on a new Fab in a new country - with NO HISTORY of manufacturing from that process.

Willamette is fabricated on the same 0.18 micron aluminum process used for Coppermine. Although this got a delayed start last year, it is in FULL BLOWN RAMP MODE today.

My guess is that ThumperTurd will have to be introduced in April for you to see a one quarter or two quarter advantage over Intel's Willamette.

But when Willamette hits, ThumperTurd will be relegated to second class status.

Did you BUY AMD today?
