Daniel - <Oddly, there don't seem to be any identifiable AMD employees anywhere.>
There used to be a famous one. Now he seemingly works at Intel.

<Cheerleading and trash talking stocks is of course stock in trade at SI. It's just the official participation that seems funny.>
There is no official participation.
I own INTC as well as AMD at the moment, although the ratio is 20:1 in favor of INTC, and I didn't reduce my INTC position to purchase AMD.
I've actually gone on record several times stating AMD is executing quite well with the Athlon.
<Particularly amusing is the oft touted boxed and ready to ship gigamines, as opposed to the apparent scarcity of .8gmines, at least if you go by normal market indicators, and not FUDding around.>
There are scenarios which you obviously don't take into account, and in fact, seemingly dismiss out of hand. I attribute this to your probable unfamiliarity with the semiconductor business.
For instance, putting on my Intel-bias hat, I can think of a couple glaring pieces of data, which have been brought to the attention of this thread, that may account for at least my seeming positive stance on the gigamine demos wrt the GHz race and the high end availability issues, (which most have left a wide opening for AMD in the Desktop market). Of course, I'm going to be a party pooper and refrain from spelling it out. Still, my bottom line is both companies should do fairly well going forward in the near term.
What do you think about Nile's statement the other day? Think he's being hoodwinked in some fashion?
