I agree with all of that etc., but YOU just don't get it......the cause of those problems is not because SI changed their format and drove away a flood of loyal members and viewers. It is because they now have something that they didn't have previously.....COMPETITION.

How many quality financial sites were around when you joined SI and how many are out there now ?

Are you insinuating that if SI kept the classic format that we would not get declining posts and page views ? That if nothing changed on SI, then everyone would be pleased as punch with their complacent discussion platform and never have the urge to try out Raging Bull, Motley Fool, etc. ?

It's common business sense IMO....when Safeway was the only decent place in town to shop, I shopped there. But when they threw up Albertson's and Haggen's, I said "hey, I think I'll try them out".

Guess what ? ...Safeway is now remodeling (i.e. changing) in an attempt to get customers back, not to drive them away.

Ya know what....I'm so sick of the generalizations from old schoolers about how they hate the new SI. Why don't some of you state exactly what it is that old SI offered that was so superior to what you get now ?

regards, brk

PS - look Sbug....I made it through the whole post without using the F word. Aren't ya proud of me :-)
