SFD, I have said it all along that I never thought net appliances were a threat to PCs to begin with. Net appliances for all intense purposes are very impractical for the average computer user to make a switch.

Corporate america will never adopt net appliances in the workplace, if they did, productivity would drop in half if not worse. I can see the usefulness of such appliances to outside sales people who are constantly on the move but even for those people, it becomes cumbersome to have to do anything more then just simple tasks.

To type this message I just did would take 10 times longer with palm pilot or cell phone than it would with a regular keyboard.

Computers are going to be around for a very long time whether we like it or not. Besides, if net appliance ever did kill off the PC, what would happen to likes of Dell and Gateway? Their stocks sure aren't acting like PCs are going to disappear in 5 years.
