Paul, I go through the same thing with a good friend about once a week when we get together for diner. I have to listen how the dot coms will all come tumbling down when investors discover that many of the companies will never earn a dime. He says that there is not enough money out there to keep them pumped up.

I respond that dot coms with a consistently poor earnings record are already being weeded out on a case-by-case basis. Just look at all of the big names of last year that are trading under $10 now.

I also respond that the money supply is growing, not shrinking because the net made it possible for millions more people from around the world to invest in both US and non-US markets.

And the word is still spreading. Record numbers of people are trying their hand at investing daily.

Eeven some old-timers are beginning to switch over. The DOW is shrinking because they are flocking to the growth of NASDAQ.
