LONG BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 1997-- The NMF Conference and Expo today broke all previous attendance records and marks a major milestone in the development of the organization. NMF now has over 200 member companies from 28 countries. The Conference and Expo is now established as the major event for the telecom industry concerned with service and network management. Over 40 companies are demonstrating products and services for advanced standards-based telecom management, and extensive, world-class seminars and information sessions attracted more than 500 attendees."The NMF Conference and Expo is now seen as the place to gauge progress in the industry," said Elizabeth Adams, NMF Managing Director. "We continue to see a significant upswing in interest in our work."

NMF's Board also met at the conference and elected its officers for 1997-98. They are:

NMF members issued the following news releases at the NMF Product Expo in Long Beach, CA:

- Euristix/Tellabs - launched new element management systems and, independently, Euristix licensed their platform development toolkit to Amati Communications Corporation for ADSL

- NCC - announced availability of a new software tool for performance testing

- Object design/Telstra - Object Design's database has received Telstra's Object Database Standard Operating Environment acceptance

- UH Comms - introduced a TMN Q3 software toolkit including a CORBA to CMIP gateway

- Nexus - launched new applications for Billing, Access security and Fault Management.

- X-Cel - launched a new SNMP-based Performance management application

- Hewlett Packard - introduced CORBA based telecom platform and announced it has jointly developed CORBA to TMN gateway solutions with Telefonica I & D.

- Vertel - announced availability of a TMN agent/manager simulator plus agreement with DATUM-Austron to integrate their network management software into network synchronizaton solutions.

- Digital and Newbridge Networks announced successful TMN interoperability between their management systems

DSET - has signed an agreement with Lockheed Martin IMS to provide Local Number Portability Interoperability Testing
