Teri -
I understand your enthusiasm for a cash rich, extremely well managed, sector dominant company. I will hold AMAT long after MTEL is acquired or bankrupt - but I will not cheerlead or get emotionally involved in any equity - this is antithetical to dispassionate, reasoned investing. I already have all the ulcers I need.
This is value tilt shop. And MTEL at 6 was stupid cheap - new management, solid tech - and TONS of debt, terrible sector = 66% return over 2 months. AMAT has to reach 92 to do the same - or 45X eps. At 54 - I am a better seller than buyer.
Check this out to see how a lot of the street views the company - and good luck to all of us in 2 weeks. Hope Jim Morgan is on the call!
