I found the flap in the news by the publisher (or editor?) of Gilder's newsletter amusing........ he sounded almost indignant, shocked...shocked I tell you.....about newsletter subscribers going for quick profits.
What do you think (most) people are paying $300 bucks for, fer goshsakes? Like many geniuses, apparently Gilder has his downsides, such as not caring enough about his subscribers to improve the site. Give me a break, those of you who adore him. You don't have to defend his crappy print layout, or his 19th century quality site......you can acknowledge that his info and insight is worth it to you despite the contemptuous way he treats you................ heck, I'm mulling over subscribing myself....my decision will be whether I think I can still get an edge, given the now superintense attention given him............ but please, no more of these "I like the (labyrinthine, sadistically small-typed, incoherent) way he writes" or "If George keeps the site that way, I'm sure it's intentional and the best thing for us"
oooooohhh, I can just see the sycophantic responses now....fire away. |
