Elmer Re.<<<That's why I think AMD should convert Fab30 to Flash because there is a market for that now. >>>

Elmer why the sudden obsession with fab30 producing flash as opposed to fab25. To try to claim that it will be faster or cheaper for AMD to do that is hogwash. Why? In either case a fab will have to be set up to produce new Tbird copper chips. Dresden already has that capability now and will produce chips for sale from Dresden shortly. To tear out that equipment and move it and, people to operate it, to Austin, effectively clean the plant to avoid aluminum contamination, and move old equipment to Dresden to produce flash would be one hell of a time consuming prfocess. In addition, producing copper chips likely will require new process in the future which I doubt Austin will be able to handle as easily. Besides, there is a facility for a design team in Dresden and to give the designers good input on how to manufacture a chip should help in designing a manufacturable chip.
As an Itellibe you seem to be as worried of Dresden and copper as Scumbia was of Willy. Oh I am sure AMD will do fine with copper just as I expect Intel will do fine with Willy. Baring any unknown disasters from either side, its likely to happen.
<<<<<<Sustained profitability leads to enhanced shareholder value. Jerry won't do this because enhancing shareholder value is not high on his priority list and Jerry calls the shots. Continuing his relentless vendetta against Intel is Jerry's motivation and until AMD shareholders throw the bum out there will be a restraint on AMD's shareprice potential.>>>>>

Why wouldn't Jerry want to enhance shareholder value. I am sure Jerry loves his stock options as much a Craig, and enhancing profits is a good way to get them. As a Intel fudder I am sure you want to get rid of Jerry, considering the way he seems to have bested Andy and Craig lately.
