To those who are high on palm pot: (woops, I mean PilOT) No doubt the palm will be hot ipo, but coms worth this much? Historically, these spin off brings excitement and causes the inflation of the stock price. But with the ipo, about 80% of the time, the parent stock price tank. This is just my observation in past two years. Also one shouldn't count 100% of ipo price (mkt cap). Usually we need to discount 30 to 40% of ipo stock's mkt cap. Before run up, Coms were priced at 30, and I believe palm's worth were 50% of coms.(But let's just say palm was only 1/3 of comes total value) Which brings coms w/o palm at 20. Say if Palm run to 60, we need to discount by 40% which gives 36, times 1.5 is 54. 20+54=74 that is pretty close to coms price right now at 80. So it seems the market think palm will be worth 60/shr ... Let see how high palm flies next week. My guess is unless Palm flies above 70, coms will retreat. web
