jill- nice sunday sermon. good writing too. i came to the porch today to listen to the perfesser, got distracted with PMs and other computer work and haven't even read volty yet. your post was nothing new - no great revelations... i already knew you had that kind of wisdom and vision just from your non-sunday posts. i've studied scores of religions and philosophies and if you look past the literal and the dogmatic they're all the same. probably my favorite is that of native americans because there's so little scripture and verbiage to get in the way of the EXPERIENCE of the spiritual. the thinking mind is a real road block when it comes to communicating with God. i had to work yesterday and one of the tv shoots i did was a kickoff for census 2000. there was a native american drumming group there with males and females from as far north as canada and as far south as southern arizona. they started the ceremonies with a sacred drum circle chant (blessing). after the politico's speeches were over i was packing up my gear to head for the next location when one of the Indians came over to thank me for coming. i said, "NO! Thank YOU dude. what you did was beautiful. i didn't understand a word of the chant but it gave me chills." he smiled and said, "then you understood perfectly my brother." i smiled and gave him a thumb's up. <polvie looks over at jill knowingly... smiles and gives her a thumbs up> -polvie (i'm off to read the porch)
