How else can you justify the incomprehensible hots the dim duo have for a nifty but narrowband add-on tech like HDR with a restrictive royalty structure when, as we speak, some deep hooks and common platform elements are being tested and retested between fixed and mobile 3G WCDMA and 4G in the 7 or 8 wideband CDMA REAL WORLD trials going on around the world. Forrester Research estimates that a full-blown deployment of 2.5 GPRS (85%) globally would cost about $100 billion. That's not an inconsequential number. One only needs to consider that infrastructure and handsets combined accounted for about $100 billion in global revenues last year.
