Mitsubishi says Intel tie-up report speculation

TOKYO, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Leading Japanese electronic equipment maker Mitsubishi
Electric Corp said on Monday a report that it was planning an alliance with Intel Corp
(NasdaqNM:INTC - news), the world's largest chip maker, was just speculation.

A spokesman for Mitsubishi Electric declined to comment further.

Nobuyuki Denda, president of Intel K.K. -- a Japanese subsidiary of Intel Corp -- declined to comment on the report during a
news conference on strategy in the cellular phone market.
