Interesting quote. Makes me want to dig up the article; I, too, have access to Infotrac, a wonderful resource. I found myself wondering whether such a service might (in theory) be more helpful in selecting husbands and wives than the seemingly random method most people seem to use. My own husband (for example) and I seem to me to be unbelievably incompatible, but the union was approved by my favorite grandmother, one sister (the sane one), and my stepmother, a very sensible woman, as well as my father and brother, with reservations, although not the other sister (the crazy one), or my mother, a very erratic woman. We share a taste for Thai cuisine, reading, and silence. We both intend to vote for McCain, and both like manual transmissions. He hates bugs, I don't mind killing them. I hate poop, he doesn't mind cleaning the cat box or picking up dog poop. We are rapidly approaching our 20th anniversary. |
