PRESS DIGEST - New York Times business - Feb 28

NEW YORK, Feb 28 (Reuters) - The New York Times reported the following stories on its business page on Monday: * In the first widespread change in the passenger cabin since the creation of business class two decades ago, several large airlines are now overhauling their coach sections -- and charging passengers more for the extra legroom of premium.

* Healtheon/WebMD cORP. riveted investors last year, as its stock price rode a roller coaster while it announced a dizzying array of mergers and alliances.

But now comes the time when the company must start delivering on its promises.

* Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. has agreed to make a $1 billion investment in Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. , which could enable it to sweeten its offer for Hong Kong's dominant telephone company, Cable & Wireless HKT Ltd. <0008.HK> * News Corp. and Yahoo Inc. , the giant Internet portal, are discussing an alliance that could include stock investments in each other's operations, according to News Corp. executives close to the talks. * It might surprise some that Redbook magazine, which is aimed most intently at married women with children, is among a growing list of American consumer magazines to heat up frank sexual discussion to spur sales in the magazine market.
