Asia-Pacific server revenues up 36 pct in 1999-IDC Jump to first matched term
SNGAPORE, Feb 28 (Reuters) - International Data Corporation (IDC) said on Monday server revenues in the Asia-Pacific region, excluding Japan, rose 36 percent in 1999 to a record $4.67 billion, aided by regional economic recovery and Y2K-related spending. The total exceeded the previous record of $3.9 billion set in 1997. IDC, a research firm specialising in information technology, said vendor consolidation continued in the region, with the top five vendors' combined revenue share rising to 83 percent from 80 percent the previous year.
