Hi! You ask some interesting questions that are difficult to answer because the wireless sector is in its very early stages of development.

From the software side, Puma clearly has the best browser for the Palm at the present time. It is the only browser that supports SSL technology and graphics. It is free. Yes, it is patented. Their servers are usually quick to respond.

The PDQ Browser by Qualcomm is very good but it does not support SSL technology or graphics. Qualcomm charges $45 for this. But they give you a free trial month of use. Their browser cannot access a few sites that Puma's browser can.

The Handweb Browser by Smartcode, which was recently bought by 3COM is IMO terrible. Most web sites are inaccessible.

I'm also not impressed with Avantgo, because their servers are very slow.

Puma has made a lot of acquisitions as of late in an attempt to become a complete Wireless solutions company.

PUMA has become the Quintessential Momentum Stock over the past year.

Their Hot Sync Technology is good; but nothing distinguishable like their web browser.

PUMA will probably get bought out by a Microsoft, Oracle, Computer Associates, 3COM, Qualcomm, Sony, Nokia, Sprint, IBM, AT&T, Bell Atlantic, SBC or maybe even Yahoo, which is very Pro Wireless, over the next couple of years if not sooner.

<Would I be a buyer at these prices>

It's more than doubled over the past 2 weeks. No.
