Steve, rll, Aus, Thread - Your comments on OUM are very helpful. If the technology works, and if it is true that INTC will try to embed it into its chips, would it be somewhat analagous to a non-volatile RAM disk or non-volatile cache memory? Secondly, on the basis of my own experience with the Nikon 950, I can deal with the long write times in the highest resolution mode in two ways: Make the photo really count so that you don't have to take a series to get the result that's just right. Use the lower resolution jpeg compressed format. JPEG permits the use of a buffer for a burst of shots and gives surprisingly good detail even in an 8x10 enlargement, provided that you have printing software to enhance sharpness.
