Franz, SCON was at $13 the day before the announcement of an order for 27 SuperFilter systems. Each unit sells for about $18 k, the order amounted to less than half a million in future revenue. On that news and since then, SCON market cap ballooned almost $800 million (on 10.2 million shares outstanding after the Feb 11 offering). SCON's commercial product revenues from SuperFilter stay around $1.5 million per annum.

SCON's bulk revenues came from goverment contracts. But that has been on the decline, from $8.1 MM in 97 to $6.0 MM in 98, and only $3.7 MM for the first 9 months of 99.
If you can weather the volatility, shorting at current level will be very profitable.

Regards,

Tom
