Greg, what are you basing this on?

The equipment suppliers should be happy too, since they will not have to pay QCOM.

If you are talking about MOT's 1xplus I think Qualcomm would still get the same royalty. Additionally, since MOT has called this an open standard, Qualcomm could design chips for this market also if they felt it would become a significant market. Worse case, Q might have to pay a royalty to MOT if they have patents covering the differences.
