Mosaic Travel & Tours Inc. corporate update Mosaic Travel & Tours Inc MOI.A Shares issued 12,558,380 Feb 25 close $1.00 Mon 28 Feb 2000 News Release Mr. Malcolm Stone reports Mosaic Travel & Tours has agreed to acquire the businesses of Campus Travel, The Day Before Departure Club, Gopaq Holidays, and The Traveller's Journal, subject to regulatory approval. Campus Travel Campus Travel was founded in June 1996 to target young adult travellers with unique travel consulting and booking services. Such services include providing information on work, study and volunteer holidays in addition to booking airfare, car rentals, hotels, rail and tours. As a leader in this niche market, Campus Travel has been able to capture large student group travel and prospects interested in unique vacations. DBD Club "The Day Before Departure Discount Club" is a service offering its members notification on seat-sales and discounts on travel such as airfare, car rentals, hotels, tours and rail. Recipients are notified via fax, phone or e-mail when a sale from a travel supplier occurs. Membership lasts for one year. Gopaq Holidays Gopaq Holidays is in its start-up phase, and is to represent and sell the services of adventure tour operators, unique accommodations, volunteer societies and schools from around the world to Canadians at a wholesale level. The Traveller's Journal The Traveller's Journal is a monthly publication providing a valuable source of information to prospective travellers. The company has identified a specific void in the marketplace to become the only free travel-orientated publication for the consumer in Calgary, Banff, Canmore and Lake Louise. With a distribution of 10,000 copies to over 500 locations in the area, travel companies such as car rental agencies, tour operators, hotels, airlines and tourism boards find it a useful source of advertising their products to the general public. Mosaic intends to take this publication national, and to create an on-line version of the publication. These acquisitions will help provide content and distribution channels for the companies previously announced e-commerce travel initiatives. Mosaic is presently in negotiations to significantly increase its travel content and on-line capabilities, and will advise shareholders shortly. As previously reported, Mosaic is proceeding to change its name to BookforTravel.Com Inc. (c) Copyright 2000 Canjex Publishing Ltd. canada-stockwatch.com |
